Frequently Asked Questions About Our Products

We may be able to acquire some parts for select products via our Service Department. Please call our A/V Consultants at 1-800-367-4434 Monday - Friday, 10AM - 7PM EST and they can determine if we make the part available to our customers, and if so they can make arrangements to place an order.

How can I improve and/or adjust reception for my SoundWorks Radio?
Because of the complexity of our SoundWorks Radios and their compact design, strong radio reception is sometimes harder to achieve than it is with simpler radios.

The tuner built into your Cambridge SoundWorks table radio is an extremely sensitive stereo tuner designed to bring in a full stereo signal and reproduce a high quality sound. Many simpler radios only draw in radio signals in mono and therefore require half the signal strength for any given station. Of course the sound quality is also significantly reduced.

The area in which you live and placement of your SoundWorks Radio greatly affects the quality of the reception; however, there are ways to increase the signal strength on your radio to achieve the results you are looking for.

Your radio can be switched to mono mode in FM playback, thereby decreasing the sensitivity of the tuner to picking up noise. Also, there are a variety of AM & FM antennas designed to work with your radio to help draw in a clearer, stronger signal so it can reproduce the high quality music your favorite stations are broadcasting.

The Display on my SoundWorks Radio has gone dark. What can I do?
It's possible that the radio simply received a static shock, which can sometimes cause the display to malfunction. We suggest you first try unplugging the radio using the reset guidelines below based on which model you have.

If this does not reset it, then there is a more serious problem and it will have to be repaired or exchanged. Please call our A/V Consultants at 1-800-367-4434 Monday - Friday, 10AM - 7PM EST to make arrangements for repair. If at all possible, please try to have your original invoice number handy for reference purposes.

My iPod isn't responding when docked to my SoundWorks i765?
You may be using the wrong insert. Try docking your iPod to the SoundWorks i765 without an insert first to ensure that a full connection has been made with your iPod. Usually when you dock without an insert, the connection is made and the iPod will work fully; this means that you were simply not using the appropriate insert and the connection was compromised.

If this does resolve the issue, then there is a more serious problem and it will have to be repaired or exchanged. Please call our A/V Consultants at 1-800-367-4434 Monday - Friday, 10AM - 7PM EST to make arrangements for repair. If at all possible, please try to have your original invoice number handy for reference purposes.
