	Not as good as I expected	02/07/2010

	I have a set of original ensemble satellite / subwoofer speakers. When the satellite speakers went bad, I replaced them with a pair of MC305's. I have to say they sound OK but they don't have that "blow you away" sound the original satellite speakers had. I used to show off my original speakers to anyone who would listen. Maybe I was just spoiled by the original speakers.

	Please note that this is an anticipatory review and I am basing this on previous experience with Cambridge Soundworks products. I have an original Newton series MC300 as my center channel, M50s as my left and right mains, and another pair as my left and right surrounds. I recently ordered a pair of 305s to replace MC150s as my surround back speakers. I have had no complaints with any Cambridge Soundworks speakers and I've been a loyal customer for about 6 years. I've auditioned Klipsch, Polk Audio, KLH and others of the well known brands over the years. While none of them are terrible, each has an annoying over emphasis and/or deemphasis of either the mid range or upper end which causes a muffled sound or a tinniness that is almost as irritating as nails on a chalkboard. Cambridge Soundworks products, on the other hand, have smooth sound production throughout their entire ranges, producint a pleasing, natural tone. I've heard that there are some moderate improvements in the newer 305s and am eager to compare their sound quality to my older speakers. I will post an update when I have had time to do a comparison.

	I just received my MC305 speakers and they are absolutely fantastic right out of the box! The sound is crystal clear and the accuracy is outstanding. I have tried many speakers from many makers and these are simply superb. I can't believe CSW can make a speaker this good and offer it at such a low price. No wonder they are celebrating 20 years in the business. Thank you and keep up the great work!
