We pair them with our switchable S205s which serve as the rear surrounds. All are matched with our powerful BassCube® 105 Powered Subwoofer to create a compact and powerful home theater that will let you experience movies at their very best.
Our Newton Theater MC155 features three matching MC155 speakers in L-C-R format (Left-Center-Right). The MC155 is an "MTM" (Midrange-Tweeter-Midrange) design for smooth, wide-dispersion sound. These remarkable two-way satellites were specifically designed for their versatile use making them effective if any home theater application. The MC155 has been updated with a new 3/4" aluminum dome tweeter with a dual magnet Neodymium structure and combines with two 3 -1/2" bass/midrange drivers to offer superb music or movie sound reproduction.
Like its sister speakers, the fit and finish of our MC155 are second to none. These drivers are enclosed in beautiful Newton Series II matte-finished ABS cabinets in a Midnight Black satin paint finish within heavily-braced composite enclosures with sensuous curves. These “curves” were not only designed for looks alone. Our engineers used these curves to make them sound better. Asymmetrically curved satellite cabinets all but eliminate distortion-causing reflections known as "standing waves.”
Serving as the rear surrounds are our 2-way, 2-driver Multi-Mode surround speaker, the S205. Their Multi-Mode implementation offers two dispersion patterns. The Dipole mode provides the "from all directions" dispersion pattern favored for use with Dolby Surround® programs and with many Dolby Digital® movie releases. The Bipole mode retains some of the dispersion of the Dipole mode, but adds a center focus ideal for any Dolby Digital® program featuring complex material in the rear channels. The modes are chosen with a convenient selector on the underside of the enclosure.
Our BassCube 105 Powered Subwoofer features a downward-firing 10-inch driver, built-in 75 watt amplifier and a replicates the design of our Newton Series® II. The BassCube 105's heavy-duty acoustic-suspension woofer in a 14-inch cube-shaped cabinet fits gracefully into a wide variety of rooms. Its downward-firing design and 1-inch legs allow it to be placed directly against side walls.
