ANDOVER,
MA - April 7, 2004 - The Boston Red Sox announced today that they
have teamed with local audio manufacturer and retailer, Cambridge SoundWorks®,
naming the company the "official sound partner" of the Boston Red Sox.
The partnership introduces the presence of Cambridge SoundWorks' award-winning
home-theater gear, including the latest flat panel TVs, throughout Fenway
Park. Cambridge SoundWorks will also offer fans special promotions and
participate in advertising throughout the season. Cambridge SoundWorks
is a wholly owned subsidiary of Creative Technology Ltd (Nasdaq: CREAF)
Under its new management, the Red Sox are working with companies like Cambridge
SoundWorks to enhance the experience of Red Sox fans attending home games.
The club expanded the concourse onto Yawkey Way in 2002 and liberated
new space while creating the Big Concourse beneath the right-center field
grandstand and bleachers in 2003. In 2004, the Red Sox are creating a
widened Third Base Concourse as well. These areas have sound and television
that keep fans in the game.
"There's nothing quite like watching a Boston Red Sox game at Fenway
Park," said Michael Sullivan, president of Cambridge SoundWorks. "We're
pleased to partner with our home team and its new management to add to
this excitement by bringing their games to life through our home-theater
systems."
"The Red Sox are extremely pleased to partner with such a progressive
local company," said Sam Kennedy, Vice President, Sales & Corporate Partnerships,
Boston Red Sox. "When we went out into the marketplace to seek a partner
in this category, we met with several different companies. We immediately
recognized that Cambridge SoundWorks was the perfect partner. They share
the same vision of enhancing Fenway by preserving what's great about this
old ballpark, but also bringing new services and technology to enhance
the fans' experience. We're excited to highlight their technology and
products in this historic venue, and hope for this to grow into a fulfilling
and long standing partnership."
Fenway Park Luxury Suite holders looking to offer their guests the ultimate
game viewing experience now have the option to outfit their suites with
state-of-the-art home theater systems. Based on suite holder preferences,
Cambridge SoundWorks will install the latest surround sound systems and
flat panel TVs. Cambridge SoundWorks will also outfit the Premium Club
and the .406 Club to improve the sound and entertainment experience in
these areas.
The Red Sox will also make available a new Cambridge SoundWorks' Viewing
Center in the Park so that all fans attending Fenway games can experience
the latest in audio/video technologies. The Cambridge SoundWorks Viewing
Center will offer everything including demonstrations comparing high definition
TVs to conventional TVs, enter-to-win contests and special fan promotional
offers
Cambridge SoundWorks will sponsor select advertising at Fenway Park
including LED advertising for the 2004 season and an in-game Video Board
feature. Advertisements will also run in the Red Sox Magazine. The company
will promote its partnership on its web site at www.cambridgesoundworks.com
and through in-store point of sale materials in its New England retail
