ANDOVER, MA, November 5, 2003
- Mick Fleetwood, co-founder of legendary group Fleetwood Mac, and Cambridge SoundWorks®, audio manufacturer and retailer, announced today that they have entered into a licensing agreement through Fleetwood Marketing. Under the terms of the agreement, Cambridge SoundWorks will now market its transportable music system, Model Twelve™, as the Mick Fleetwood Signature™ Model Twelve. See www.cambridgesoundworks.com/12. Cambridge SoundWorks is a wholly owned subsidiary of Creative Technology Ltd (Nasdaq: CREAF).
Popular among some of the world's top musicians, Model Twelve is the only product to build a subwoofer directly into a travel-size, portable carrying case and combine it with two satellite speakers to create an "on-the-go" high performance music system. The carrying case or BassCase™ with built-in subwoofer is a design patented by Cambridge SoundWorks. Fleetwood, who has been using the Model Twelve for the past several years, has been impressed with the system's quality and sound, and even used it to listen to sample mixes of Fleetwood Mac's newest album, "Say You Will".
"The brilliant thing about the Model 12 is its versatility," says Fleetwood. "I use this system in many different ways. For starters I rarely leave for the road without the unit and a portable CD player so I have quality sound wherever I am. Not only do I use the Model Twelve when I travel, but I also use it in my home office for listening enjoyment and as a sound system for my computer.
"When the people at Cambridge Sound Works asked if I'd lend my support to this product, I was honored that they wanted to rename it the Mick Fleetwood Signature Model Twelve. I truly believe this is a brilliant, innovative system and indispensable for those who really love their music."
"Model Twelve is considered a hidden gem among musicians and enthusiasts," said Michael Sullivan, president of Cambridge SoundWorks. "Having a musician of Mick Fleetwood's caliber not only use the Model Twelve, but also endorse it is testament to our commitment to deliver best in class audio products."
Cambridge SoundWorks will promote the Mick Fleetwood Signature Model Twelve on its website, www.cambridgesoundworks.com/12 in its retail locations and through its nationally distributed catalog. The system will also be featured at The Official Site of Mick Fleetwood, www.MickFleetwood.com.
Along with the system's subwoofer and satellite speakers, Mick Fleetwood Signature Model Twelve's carrying case also contains enough space for a portable music source (like a portable CD or MP3 player). Lending to its travel-ability, the Mick Fleetwood Signature Model Twelve operates on 110V AC or 12V DC for home or mobile use (12-volt adapter is included). For those who want to travel overseas with it, there is a universal 100V to 240V AC adapter available.
Pricing and Availability
The Mick Fleetwood Signature Model Twelve retails for $399.99. It can be purchased directly at Cambridge SoundWorks' retail locations, on the Internet at www.cambridgesoundworks.com/12 or by calling 1-800-FOR-HIFI.
