Speakers
ANDOVER, MA - Dad
wants to add music to the living room, den or his office, but is cramped
for space? You're in luck. Great sounding audio systems don't have to
mean a mountain of components and multiple speakers. There are some new
affordable options in home audio, including the growing category of high-end
table radios. See http://www.cambridgesoundworks.com.
Cambridge SoundWorks'® new SoundWorks Radio ($249.99) is an example.
It may look like a high-end table radio, but is actually a stereo system
in disguise says Cambridge's resident audio expert, Fred Pinkerton. According
to Pinkerton, the SoundWorks Radio features something that great stereo
systems offer -- bass. Unlike other high-end table radios, it is outfitted
with three speakers, including a powered subwoofer. The result is a sound
system that offers rich, natural, room-filling sound - a feature normally
associated with larger stereo systems. Cambridge SoundWorks is a wholly
owned subsidiary of Creative Technology Ltd (Nasdaq: CREAF).
"Table radios are a perfect gift alternative for those who want great
sound but don't have room for a larger system," adds Pinkerton. "If you
were to listen to the SoundWorks Radio blindfolded, you'd probably think
it was a stereo system with speakers six feet apart from each other. It
simply sounds much bigger than it looks."
The SoundWorks Radio features a sleek look, great sound and the latest
technology, such as support of RDS™ (Radio Data Service) which displays
text from stations such as the song currently being played. Ease of use
has also been enhanced with features like the radio's JOG control, a single
button that allows the user to adjust radio functions like bass, treble,
and alarm modes. JOG functionality and alarm features are available in
a choice of 5 languages (English, French, German, Spanish or Italian).
The SoundWorks Radio features a 32-character display; front and rear
auxiliary inputs for CD or MP3 players; dual alarms that wake the user
to tone or music; and an ultra-compact remote control. For more information
on the SoundWorks Radio or audio gift ideas, consumers can visit Cambridge
SoundWorks at www.cambridgesoundworks.com or call (1-800)
