of its high-end speaker line, the Newton Series™, Cambridge SoundWorks,
a manufacturer and retailer of home theater, home audio and multimedia
products, today introduced new additions to its award-winning line. The
Newton Series will now feature lower-cost speakers including new satellites,
main speakers, a new main/center speaker, and a powered subwoofer. The
extended line is ideal for customers looking for Newton Series performance
at a lower cost. The Newton Series features the high style and high performance
usually associated with exotic, expensive systems. It is available at

The additions to the Newton Series include: The MC50 - a stylish cube
satellite speaker that uses EQ electronics to create a smooth, open natural
sound; the MC100 - the most compact, two-way satellite speaker system
ever made by Cambridge SoundWorks; the MC150 - a dual-midrange, two-way
loudspeaker ideal as a center channel that can also be used as a main
speaker; and the P200 - a small, yet powerful subwoofer that is the cornerstone
of the new Newton Series home theater packages.
Features:
- Newton Series MC50 - A high performance, ultra-compact satellite speaker,
the MC50 features a 3 ½ " driver and a four-element EQ network built
into each satellite, and a provides frequency range from as high as
16kHz to as low as 150Hz.
- Newton Series MC100 - A compact, all-purpose two-way speaker suitable
for left/right main, surround, or even a center speaker. The MC100 has
a ¾" silk-fabric soft dome tweeter with Neodymium magnet structure,
and a 3 ½" midrange driver that will play down to 100Hz.
- Newton Series MC150 - A two-way speaker equally suitable as a center
channel, or a left/right main. Transducers include dual 3 ½" midrange
drivers, and a 3/4" soft-dome tweeter. The MC150 is voice-matched to
the MC100, so that it may be used as a companion center channel in MC100
systems.
- Newton Series P200 - A, high output subwoofer with extended low frequency
response and high output in a very compact design. The P200 uses one
of the high-excursion 10" polymer-laminated woofers from the P1000 to
provide the range and loudness usually associated with larger 12" or
15" systems. The 10" woofer acoustic suspension design and 200 Watt
BASH® amplifier combine to deliver tight, detailed response to 25Hz
with unusually high output for such a compact enclosure.
